The Blue Angels Air Demonstration Squadron’s performance during the City of Virginia Beach’s 2012 Patriotic Festival is presented in conjunction with OpSail 2012 Virginia and the United States Navy.  OpSail 2012 Virginia, June 1-12, 2012, is part of a national maritime event celebrating the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the writing of the Star Spangled Banner.  In addition to the Blue Angels performance June 1-2-3, the combined schedule of events for the Patriotic Festival and OpSail 2012 Virginia will include multiple major concerts, military air and amphibious support performances, Parades of Sail, ship tours, historical re-enactments and educational opportunities.  The tall ships will be anchored off Cape Henry on June 7, 2012 and more than 150,000 people are expected along the Virginia Beach waterfront.

The Virginia Beach Oceanfront Airshow June 1-2-3 projected schedule to include the US COAST GUARD Search & Rescue with Helo’s / rescue vessels, AV-88 HARRIER, B-2, F-22/ F16, AMPHIBIOUS landing w/ MARINE CORPS close air support, US NAVY Heritage Flight with current/ historic NAVY aircraft and Blue Angel C-130 Fat Albert. Continuing after The Blue Angel’s Air Demonstration the traditional CONCERT SERIES feature National Artist performances at fifth Street/ Oceanfront .
